They promised me a raise, but when the time came to give it to me, they didn't!

For 15 years, I worked at a company that kept promising me a considerable increase in my salary once the company was seeing greater profits. After putting in years of incredible innovative work that literally changed the face of the company and made it more profitable, I never received that substantial raise.
When I confronted the head guy in charge, he gave me his usual platitudes, and that was the final straw for me.
The injustice of the situation sealed my fate in a good way. It made me more determined than ever to get out. Since I didn’t have a trust fund or an angel investor or rich family members that could fund my dream, I had to build it slowly.
It took me another two years to build my side hustle business to a full-time profitable business that could support me financially, and that was okay with me. Because it was all on my terms.
Those last two years at that job were bearable because I knew I had an exit strategy. So, every time something at work pissed me off, I would draw my attention back to the bigger purpose – to make my business strong enough to get out! I kept my eye on the prize.
I did what women in my community have always done. I figured out a way around the system!
So, if you’re out there waiting for the next promotion or the next raise and hoping they will give it to you, I hope they do.
But, if you’re sick and tired of waiting for your job to do right by you, reach out to me. Because it gets to a point where enough is enough!
Instead of waiting any longer start working on the plan that will make you the highest-paid person in your company. Give yourself a new title. How does CEO sound to you?

P.S.S. I know what I’m worth, and it’s time to give myself a raise. See how that works? I don’t have to wait on anyone to pay me what I’m worth.
